Clair Obscure is Officially a Franchise, Layoffs at Crystal Dynamics, CDPR is Hiring More People for Upcoming Games, Atari Now Owns 5 Ubisoft Titles and more!
Can I get a hell yeah for Clair Obscur? I kinda hope that it becomes a franchise like Final Fantasy in the sense that all the games can share similar lore but not connected. I'm okay with the next games to take place in the same universe but I think I would love it more if they took place in different universes like Final Fantasy.
I actually wrote an article a bit ago about how Clair Obscure should become the next multimedia crossover franchise. Whatever the next chapter is, I am ready for! That game is amazing.
Ubisoft is just...quietly fading away (and in some cases, not so quietly), which is sad considering they had a really good thing going despite all the scandals. But I guess that's what happens to all giants eventually?
Also, I wonder if Clair Obscur will remain the turn-based game that it is...or if they'll consider branching out into other genres. Star Wars, Gears of War, maybe Minecraft? are the first examples that come to my mind where the IPs have branched out...it'd be cool to see more IPs explore different genres.
I mean, what is happening with Ubisoft is honestly happening because of all the decisions they've made over the years. So, even if they fade, there's no one else to blame for this but them.
And for the Clair Obscur, I think they will stick to their guns, seeing how it resonated with everyone, but we'll see probably soon enough

Hell yeah! But I still haven't really played it 😅
Always grateful for the shoutout! Appreciate you <3
