🎮 The Most Exciting Upcoming Games of 2025 p.1
Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (PC port), Spider-Man 2 (PC port), Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 and more!
Hello friends,
Today is January 7th 2025 and I hope you’ve had a great week 🙌
I thought that the beginning of the year would be a perfect time to talk about upcoming projects! So, this is the first of 2 parts dedicated to the exciting projects that are scheduled to (or at least expected) to be released in 2025 and the ones that I’m personally looking forward to.
If my gamer side could have a New Year's Resolution, this list would be it 😅
All of this is brought to you in a 5 min format ⏲️
Let’s dig in!
🎮 Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Release date: January 14, 2025
DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS is a tactical action game set during ancient China's "Three Kingdoms" period.
Players will play as a warrior who has lost his memories and must navigate the chaos of the era, from the "Yellow Turban Rebellion" to the "Battle of Chibi".
Experience the realistic battlefields with massive soldiers and lead your allies to victory as you battle as 1 vs. 1,000.
As a fan of Samurai Warriors 2, Warriors Orochi and Dynasty Warriors, I’m very excited to see what this game will bring to the table. I just hope that it will turn out to be better than its predecessors 😅
🎮 Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (PC port)
Release date: January 23, 2025
The FINAL FANTASY VII remake project uses the latest technology to bring FINAL FANTASY VII, the legendary RPG that enchanted the world, to a new generation and allows fans to experience the famed story reimagined.
The first game in the trilogy, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, was released in 2020, achieving critical acclaim across the globe and shipping more than seven million units worldwide. Now, the second game, FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH, returns to tell the story at the core of the trilogy and has already achieved critical acclaim.
I have to say, I never completed the Remake even though I played it for a while when I had my PlayStation 4. With this game though, I’m planning to eventually sit down and complete both of them back to back as the Remake was amazing, I just ran out of time. And I’m very happy that Sony and Square Enix decided to port this game after all!
🎮 Spider-Man 2 (PC port)
Release date: January 30, 2025
Spider-Sense tingling…
Mask-up for more thrilling web-slinging heroics as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swings onto PC.
Developed by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Marvel, and optimized for PC by Nixxes Software.
Oh, I’ve been waiting for this one for some time. A few months back I could not wait anymore and decided to watch the game’s walkthrough though 😅 But I’m really looking forward to making through the journey one more time, now with my own hands
🎮 Sid Meier’s Civilization 7
Release date: February 11, 2025
The award-winning strategy game franchise returns with a revolutionary new chapter. Sid Meier's Civilization® VII empowers you to build the greatest empire the world has ever known!
In Civilization VII, your strategic decisions shape the unique cultural lineage of your evolving empire. Rule as one of many legendary leaders from throughout history and steer the course of your story by choosing a new civilization to represent your empire in each Age of human advancement.
Well, this franchise is just a classic at this point. I’ve played a lot of Civ 5 and 6 for the past few days, I even bought the Beyond Earth version and it still feels great even after all the numerous hours I’ve put into it. I hope that the next addition to the franchise will be just as great 😁

🎮 Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Release date: February 14, 2025
This one is a bit of a controversial point on my list. I’m not a huge fan of Assassin’s Creed as every game is either hit or miss for me. With the exception of Oddysey, Valhalla and a bit of Black Flag for a bit, I played only the games that were related to the Desmond “timeline”. So, I really don’t know what to expect from this one, especially now that the opinions are so divided. I’ll probably just wait for the review until I’ll be ready to commit to this one.
🎮 Split Fiction
Release date: March 2025
Embrace mind-blowing moments as you’re pulled deep into the many worlds of Split Fiction, a boundary-pushing co-op action adventure from the studio behind 2021 Game of the Year Winner, It Takes Two. Mio and Zoe are contrasting writers – one writes sci-fi and the other writes fantasy – who become trapped in their own stories after being hooked up to a machine designed to steal their creative ideas. They’ll have to rely on each other to break free with their memories in-tact, working together to master a variety of abilities and overcome diverse challenges while jumping between sci-fi and fantasy worlds in this unexpected tale of friendship.
Finally a new game from one of the greatest devs of the coop genre! This game looks like Hazelight Studios stepped it up a bunch and the setting feels very fresh. I can’t wait to play it with my partner 😁 (don’t tell her that yet, it’s a surprise)
🎮 Dune: Awakening
Release date: 2025
This is your Dune. A Dune where Paul Atreides was never born. Where Lady Jessica obeyed the Bene Gesserit and gave birth to a girl, and Duke Leto survived the assault on Arrakeen. As a War of Assassins between Atreides and Harkonnen rages across the planet, new factions form, old ways fade, and the Fremen... are missing. Your journey begins here, in the desert. Find the Fremen. Wake the Sleeper.
Even though this game doesn’t technically have a release date and possibly can be pushed to 2026, the franchise is definitely on the roll and it’s great that somebody decided to pair it with a video game. I don’t know yet if it’s going to be compelling enough, but the gameplay looks very promising and the setting looks amazing!
🫡 True Tribute!
Today I wanted to salute
with an amazing review of a unique game!I’m not a fan of clicker games, but this one caught my eye thanks to
. The game itself looks strangely addictive, horrifying and even interesting somehow. It almost feels like The Stanley Parable but with a different twist. Shout-out to for this amazing review!😄 Personal Update
This week I have a special announcement to make, but I’ll need some time to prepare for it, so I’ll keep you posted this Sunday!
With so many exciting projects about to be released, I can’t help but feel nostalgic. For example, I recently got back into Civilization 6 and it turns out that they actually added some interesting mechanics, like the ability to hire great heroes to your army or as support units, and more policies and conditions while you set up the game. All in all, it is a bunch of stuff and I am genuinely happy to get back to it and (hopefully) to be able to finish a game all the way to the end.
Usually, I’m done by the industrial age because I’m either outpaced and being attacked by spaceships while I still have first tanks or I’m stomping so hard it’s pretty much already a win 😅
This is all the news I have for you folks today.
Thanks for making it this far! 🙌

I'm eagerly awaiting part 2!
I'm hoping for some evolution of the formula with Civ 7. Civ 6 was fun, but I got tired of it fairly quickly. Maybe I'll try getting back into it though with the updates and mods in place.
What a legend thanks for the shout out! Also, Split Fiction looks insane.
