🎮 Prince Of Persia Remake Update
The long-awaited and troubled remake of a game that conquered our hearts in 2003 may be released sooner than we realised.
Exclusively reported by Insider Gaming recently, sources close to the game revealed to the outlet that the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake is scheduled to release in mid-January 2026, and a more detailed reveal is set to be during The Game Awards show on December 11, 2025.
Which is quite surprising, considering how much turmoil this little project experienced during its relatively short lifespan. Announced back in 2020, then delayed multiple times until the studio developing it went completely silent. And of course, a cherry on top, announcement back in 2022 that the project was being started from scratch.
I have a lot of fond memories about this game, unlike a lot of people, I even enjoyed the 2008 attempt to revive it after Ubisoft made a decision to switch to Assassin’s Creed. So, you can imagine how excited I was (and still am) that this series is getting a remake. Hopefully, this time is the charm.
Are you excited? 😍
🎮 PUBG Extraction Shooter
Another company is ready to jump on this extraction shooter train that’s gaining new projects by the minute, and it’s Krafton with a recently announced PUBG: Black Budget.
While the recently announced addition to the PUBG family doesn’t have a lot of footage, it does have a Steam page now with a bunch of info, screenshots and gifs of gameplay. Also, Krafton announced a closed Alpha test for next month, with sign-ups now open, and there are no NDA restrictions with the experience.
Designed as an FPP-first experience, PUBG: Black Budget is a tactical extraction shooter built around tension, survival, and the unknown.
You are a Contractor, a hardened veteran hired for a classified operation on an island at the edge of the world. Your mission is to recover top-secret technology from an abandoned research facility. But there’s a catch: the island is trapped in a time loop, consumed by a supernatural phenomenon known as the Anomaly. Extract artifacts, research your findings, and uncover the truth behind the black-budget initiative, SAPIENS.
In between missions, you’ll expand your personal Base, craft new equipment, and improve your character’s skills and proficiencies. Prepare to face PvPvE threats in an environment that grows more unpredictable with every loop – and the longer you stay, the harder it is to make it out alive.
This game definitely looks more impressive than its battle royale counterpart.
Honestly, I don’t understand what all the fuss is about with this genre. I mean, it’s ok, I played Arena Breakout Infinite for a while, and it was more or less ok, but similarly to Tarkov, if you are not a hardcore fan of the genre, you can quickly get tired of the same rinse and repeat cycle. I guess this is the only alley that is still not overflown with different games, so everybody wants to be the one to fill it 🤷♂️
🎮 Release Date For Reanimal
Developers of Little Nightmares were also busy this past year as they finally revealed a release date for Reanimal: February 13th, 2026.
Xbox Partner Preview, Tarsier Studios revealed a new gameplay trailer, showcasing co-op playthrough as well as some elements of the game, which looks quite scary. This time it’s even more unsettling than the first two games, with the synopsis being the following:
In this co-op horror adventure game, you play as a brother & sister who go through hell to rescue their missing friends. Exploring by boat and on land, you must use your wits to survive, work together to escape the hellish island, and the dark secret that haunts you.
Along with the release date and the trailer, Tarsier Studios also made a demo that’s available on Xbox, PC and PS5, which will consist of Reanimal’s opening chapters.
I’m not too fond of horror games, but this one looks quite intriguing. I’m now thinking about buying it, just for the sake of playing it with my partner and seeing whether she is easily spooked by games or not 😁

🎮 Golden Joystick 2025 - Winners
The first big award ceremony has concluded, and now we know which games won the Golden Joystick this year. Unsurprisingly, the biggest trophy went to Expedition 33 😅
An award ceremony was held in London on November 20, with a lot of nominations, and some results are a little more surprising than others. Here’s the full list:
Ultimate Game of the Year - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Best Audio Design - Ghost of Yotei
Best Early Access Game - R.E.P.O.
Best Game Adaptation - Arcane Season 2
Best Game Expansion - Lies of P: Overture
Best Game Trailer - Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer 2
Best Gaming Hardware - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
Best Indie Game - Blue Prince
Best Indie Game - Self-published - Hollow Knight: Silksong
Best Lead Performer - Jennifer English
Best Multiplayer Game - Peak
Best Remake / Remaster - The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered
Best Soundtrack - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Best Storytelling - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Best Supporting Performer - Ben Starr
Best Visual Design - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Breakthrough Award - Schedule 1
Console Game of the Year - Ghost of Yōtei
Critics’ Choice - Donkey Kong Bananza
Most Wanted Game - GTA 6
PC Game of the Year - Hollow Knight: Silksong
Still Playing - Mobile - Pokemon Go
Still Playing - PC & Console - Minecraft
Streamers’ Choice - Peak
Studio of the Year - Sandfall Interactive
Honestly, I think with all the nominations and especially nominees, Golden Joystick does a better job than The Game Awards. A lot of games that should’ve been on the list for the latter were at least represented in the former. I think Expedition 33 definitely deserves the award, even if it’s not my cup of tea 😅
⚡ Lightning Round!
1…2…3…Go!
🎮 Ubisoft Is Doing Well
While Ubisoft took its sweet time this year publishing a new financial report, with some people starting to speculate that something weird was going on, the company seems to be doing incredibly well.
According to the report, Ubisoft’s net bookings in H1 FY increased 20%, soaring to €772 million. Digital revenues made up a huge chunk of that, and the shining gem is “player recurring investment”, which soared by +52% in H1 FY26.
Outperformance driven by stronger-than-expected partnerships, demonstrating the power and attractiveness of the Group’s portfolio as well as meaningful contribution from live TV and animated series.
Excluding partnerships, back-catalog was robust and in line with expectations, but marked by contrasted dynamics.
I was honestly not expecting that 😅
🎮 Tides Of Annihilation: New Gameplay Trailer
Another game that made an appearance during the Xbox Partner Preview event was Tides of Annihilation, or as some people like to call it, “Stellar Blades meet Elden Ring”.
Aside from amazingly impressive visuals, Eclipse Glow Games also shared some minor bits about the narrative, but hasn’t shared anything about the potential release date:
We’ve created a world that reimagines Arthurian Legend where themes of courage, loyalty, and heroism intertwine with an epic story set in a strange-yet-familiar setting that will test the mettle of true gamers and push the genre forward.
We are thrilled to share the next chapter of Gwendolyn’s journey, and this is only the beginning.
Looks absolutely stunning!
🎮 Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival - Gameplay Reveal
And just one more gameplay trailer, this time for another gory horror from Saber Interactive, Hellraiser.
If you have ever watched the movies, you probably know why this trailer is age-restricted, as it is just like you could’ve imagined, every bit of violence and sadism rolled into a video. The combat, the story pieces, and the environment look like pure Clive Barker!
I missed this style ever since I played Jericho!
🫡 True Tribute!
Today I wanted to salute Kathy Enriquez and The KATacombs !
I just wanted to say congratulations to a fellow creator. What you’ve managed to do is beyond impressive! With so many different physical products, merchandise and a lot of writing, it’s all just amazing. Very inspirational to see someone actually achieving their dream, and great to have such talented creators here with us!
😄 Personal Update
While I’m still thinking about taking some time off, I’m accumulating a bunch of other ideas that I want to try with this publication. The good news is that each week, I’m getting more and more done on my backlog of QA and Game Development content. I’m still less than 10% done (there is a lot of stuff there), but it’s still progress.
It’s a little bit slower than expected since we are working on our last update this year, and the fact that I’m constantly switching between several different projects. With that said, I’m actually feeling very productive. Quite exciting end of the year 😁
This is all the news I have for you folks today.
Thanks for making it this far! 🙌

Thank you for the shoutout!! It's been a hell of a year on my end for all that haha.
Also, I'm super excited for the hellraiser game.
And yes, you should def take some time off! Relax. Esp with the holidays coming up!
I never thought I'd be into extraction shooters...but I think it's the weird tension between cozy discovery and high(ish) stakes play that I'm enjoying. It's like...Zelda on steroids...? But no first persons for me, I'll stick to my ARC Raiders for the foreseeable future!
Also, Ubisoft, use that money and get moving on BGE2!!!
As always, great write up!!
