EA overhauls Apex Legends in-game currency, Piranha Bytes has shut down, and Pithead Studio has been born, Exoprimal is done and done after just 1 year, Watch Dogs movie, Horizon Zero Dawn adaptation
I'm cautiously interested in the watchdog adaption. I'm more curious to see what they will do with it and how loosely or closely they will stick with the source material.
On Capcom Exoprimal, love the concept but Everyone wants Fortnite success which I donโt think itโs possible with the newer games unless itโs something unique. Hope it survives another year.
Well, yes. But only game developers think like that and care about that. Other people only care about increasing their bottom line and making more money. What's worse is that the latter is most of the times in charge of the former, so...
I've never understood that about Western business. If companies don't have record profits every quarter, they're failing somehow, even if on paper their business is still doing well. Crazy!
Well, yeah. But itโs just business for people like that and everybody wants more of something. Fortunately, there are still a few who wants to just make good games ๐
Seems like all Embracer does is buy studios to close them!
Apparently, that's what every corporation these days is doing...

Considering their previous adaptations, I'm betting not very close. Now whether it's going to be worth it or not... Well, we'll see, right?

I agree, but this kind of meteoric success is 1 in a 1 000 000. And unfortunately most companies don't want to settle for anything less
It's wild to me how the video game industry remains incredibly profitable and still so unsure of itself.
Make good games, market them well, don't gouge your consumers, people buy, repeat. I know it's more complicated than that, but surely not much more?

Oh, Rovio still exists and still makes games? Nice!
Also, I think we need an indie studio to make a nostalgic Dino Crisis revival. With a bit of Turok, redheads, and Cadillac & Dinosaurs :-D
We sure are ๐
Too bad Piranha Bytes is closing the doors. I always liked the Gothic series. The German synchronization was great.
I even heard about a reboot of the series, but not sure about that anymore
