🎮 Fable - New Trailer
This is something that I longed for ever since I played Fable 3. A proper new game (maybe even a reboot?). At least it looks that way. Fable was one of the first games I played through and through so many times I lost count. From standard editions to remasters and mods. And I’m very excited now that this game is officially announced and coming.
The trailer itself did raise some concerns for me, like whether or not we will be playing as this retired hero or if it’s going to be a new custom made apprentice that’s going to challenge an old one. I hope it’s going to be the latter, as this guy didn’t really resonate with me from the start. But we’ll see in the following months when new details will emerge.
🎮 Dragon Age: Veilguard Gameplay
Now, I didn’t say it out loud, but I’ve been somewhat disappointed with a reveal trailer last week. It simply didn’t look like the dark fantasy epic Dragon Age that I expected. And I prayed it was some sort of mistake and the gameplay reveal would set things right.
For me, it definitely did! The gameplay looks nothing like the trailer and has a whole different vibe.
First of all, I’m so happy BioWare decided to go all in with the full-action devil-may-cry combat. Ever since I played Inquisition I’ve been hoping for that. Second of all, the trailer left the impression that the game is going to be almost cartoonish and Fortnite-ish, but as far as I can tell, it doesn’t. The models definitely changed, but they look fine. The demons look scary and darky, as they should. The VFX stuff though could use a little polish pass, but we are still about 3-6 months from release, so 🤞
What do you think? Has your opinion changed even slightly after seeing the gameplay reveal?
🎮 DOOM: The Dark Ages - Official Trailer
Now it’s definitely medieval!
The game looks pretty much how I imagined it would be. The location seems to be full of castles, dragons, fortresses and other elements that fit the setting, the weapons have the same ancient twist (and it looks like we are getting a sick shield!) and of course tons of enemies!
But it is still pretty much the same Doom we’ve seen for the past several years. So you could say I expected something… More? I don’t know, I hope I’m wrong and it’s going to be the same story as with Dragon Age, but we’ll see

🎮 State of Decay 3 - New Trailer
As a huge fan of zombies (games, movies, all of them), I’ve been looking forward to more news about this game ever since the initial announcement 3 years ago 😅
It seems like the game is going to put ever greater emphasis on companions and how their deaths contribute to the overall narrative which is great. It looks like every new instalment in the series is getting darker and darker.
I assume that we are going to have even more zombies and even the familiar ones are going to be even harder. Look at the size of this Juggernaut! It looks like it’s the Juggernaut from Deadpool 2, just a dead one. Also, it looks like the Red Plague is going to be again the main thing in the series and things are getting even worse for the remaining survivors.
My personal hope is that the game also would go deeper and wider in the community and base-building direction. I really enjoy shooting zombies, but as it was with the previous games, it quickly becomes boring once you get to top-tier weapons and such. Even the story in the second game wasn’t as exciting as in the first one, for example. So I’m hoping they are going to put these pedals to the metal as this game IMO has a lot of potential.
🎮 Life is Strange - Reveal
WOW! That was completely unexpected.
It’s so exciting to see Max back! As you can probably guess, I’m a fan of this series as well 😅 Well, with a little note. I adore the first game and played it through several times, but I haven’t touched anything else besides it. The other games just didn’t connect with me the same way the first one did.
But this one looks like the studio decided to go back to the basics and I love it! The game looks just like the first one so far, except a different crush and instead of time travel you get parallel worlds.
However, what bothers me the most is the absence of Chloe. It looks like they’ve made her death a canon and it kind of sucks. As I’m the person who saved her every single playthrough. Hopefully, it’s just another parallel universe stuff or I’m going to be pissed
🎮 There’s more
As with Summer Game Fest, many games were announced and revealed besides my list, but it’s too much for my humble newsletter format.
But if you want to know the whole list, Kotaku (again) did a great job summing everything up in a big post. So, if you want to check out new Gears, Stalker 2 and other notable games, here you go.
Also, I’ve got to say, the past few weeks are so packed with news and updates on so many games. With E3 gone everybody is doing their own thing and kind of works. At least from my perspective 😅
😄 Personal Update
I got to try Vision Pro this week and it’s quite an interesting experience.
The VR experience is probably the best I’ve ever seen so far, but I don’t see how it is supposed to be “the tool” as opposed to just very expensive toy. There are not a lot of apps there, it makes me a bit dizzy after an hour of setup and testing and I can’t use it with my glasses on…
So, if you have the ability to buy yourself an almost 4k USD toy, then you should consider buying this one in a year or so when there would be more games and apps, otherwise, it’s probably not worth it.
This is all the news I have for you folks today.
Thanks for making it this far! 🙌

I'm excited for Life is Strange as well!
And I've got to say...I can't seem to get myself to be ok with strapping a giant visor to my head for the VR experience. Hopefully, technology will progress enough that it can be accomplished through something like glasses...
I got a Microsoft Hololens back when those were announced. It seems like Apple has the same problem MS did: too expensive, short battery life and not sure who their target audience is
